So 2014 was the year of the Scottish Referendum, Michael Schumacher’s accident, the mystery of flight MH370, the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, the massive Ebola outbreak, Pistorius’ never-ending trial, the sad passing of Robin Williams, George Clooney being taken off the market and of course, the infamous Ice Bucket Challenge.
For me, it was the year I was shortlisted for the CWA Margery Allingham competition, changed jobs (twice), moved house, got a book deal, spent the summer in a caravan and turned 40…
It was also the year that I struggled to write! Getting the book deal was fantastic. I really enjoyed working with my editor and getting the book polished, and I was so excited to see the cover and hear about lots of exciting things that will be happening next year – the year of BLACK WOOD‘s release. But trying to focus myself enough to finish another novel has been a challenge. I haven’t even written a short story. I’m hoping to fix this soon 🙂
So while I wasn’t able to write, I was still able to read…
